At the core of this camping cot is a high-pressure 3D drop-stitch inflatable structure.
FREEIN Camping Cot combines a high-pressure inflatable core with a stable support structure to deliver flat, balanced, bed-like comfort—without sleeping on the ground. Thousands of internal fibers create a flat, rigid sleeping surface that inflates up to 7 PSI in real use. Combined with a reinforced frame and multi-point support system, it eliminates sagging and instability common in traditional cots
Real Bed Feel TechnologyThe product info states that this a queen size mattress and cot, it is more of a full. Beyond that, this is a well built, easy to put together and use cot.
The frame requires some assembly, slipping poles through the mattress cover bottom sleeves and then clipping on cross bars and legs. All this is simple once it is clear how to orient the crossbars. The mattress slips inside of a canvas-like slip cover. When taking down the cot, I left the mattress in the slip cover.
I tested the mattress handling weight of one or two people and, if I had the mattress inflated enough, it did not sag. But that creates a pretty firm mattress which wasnt comfortable to sleep on. The mattress is large enough for two people, but theyd be sleeping close together.
I used this cot in my inflatable tent for 2 nights on a recent trip. The cot was easy to set up and inflate the mattress. Since I was using an inflatable tent, and the pump for the tent moved more air volume than the small hand pump provided. It inflated quickly.
Sleeping on this mattress I had trouble finding a comfortable mix of a comfortable softness, and firm enough not to sag from my weight. The height of the cot is good for using the cot as a chair. Easy to get up from. When taking the cot down, the pieces conveniently fit into provided smaller bags and one larger carrying bag.
Overall, this is a great car camping cot and for the right person, perfect.
This camping cot stands out because it includes an integrated air mattress. While the final result is very comfortable, reaching that point required some concentration and trial and error. The frame consists of several pieces that must be assembled. I discovered that turning the system upside down makes installing the legs much easier. Once the legs are in place, the frame features three turnbuckle connections that allow you to tighten the cot frame. Although the mattress inflates with a hand pump, you can also use a stand-up paddle board pump if you have one. The included pillow is small and offers limited comfort, but the entire system is quite comfortable once set up. We found the frame sturdy enough for extended use, and even my wife, who is a very picky sleeper, approved. This cot is expensive, but it is made with quality materials that should ensure it lasts for many years. If you are tired of uncomfortable camp cots, this might be a good value for your money. The package includes three bags to keep the legs, frame, and pad organized. It is fairly lightweight and easy to transport.
We picked up this Freein Double Camping Cot with Inflatable Mattress Combo because we frequently have family staying over and eventually run out of regular beds. We wanted something more comfortable and sturdy than a standard air mattress setup.
How Its Been Used:
The cot and mattress combo has been used indoors for overnight guests and family visits. It has been set up multiple times to test comfort, stability, and ease of use.
What Worked Well:
Very Comfortable Sleep Setup: The mattress and cot combination feels far more supportive than a standard air mattress alone.
Sturdy Construction: The 16-point support frame feels stable and secure.
Large Sleeping Area: The queen-size setup provides plenty of room for adults or kids.
Adjustable Height Options: The modular design gives flexibility depending on the setup needed.
Easy Storage & Portability: Packs away much more conveniently than expected for its size.
Social Reaction:
Family members immediately complimented how comfortable and well-built it felt, and the kids actually argued over who was going to get to sleep on it because they liked it so much.
Personal Enjoyment:
We really enjoy having it because it gives guests a much more comfortable sleeping option without needing a dedicated guest room setup.
Bottom Line:
Based on our experience so far, this is a fantastic option for camping, guests, or extra sleeping space at home. Its comfortable, sturdy, and has already become one of the most popular sleeping spots whenever family visits.
This is a full size cot with an inflatable heavy thick air mattress. While there in mention in the description that it is queen size I think I'd consider it comparable to a full size mattress. Assembly is fairly straight forward with minimal directions, but after the first time it becomes much easier to do. There unit comes with a carry bag and hand pump for the air mattress and depending on how firm you like your mattress you an increase or decrease the PSI. You an also use the heavy thick air mattress independently without the cot frame. The quality and durability appear to be excellent. This camping cot is pretty heavy and best suited for car/travel trailer camping but it also works great in the home as an extra bed for when you have quests spending the night. If two adults are going to be using it I suggest you increase the PSI so you don't sink towards the middle. For a camping it's a bit on the expensive side but the fact that you can use it in the home as a secondary bed makes it worth it. The item description states that it can handle over 800 pounds but I'm not sure I would test it to that limit. All the metal components are made of an aluminum alloy and powder coated in black. The included carrying bag is big enough that everything fits nicely back inside. For car camping I highly recommend this cot but keep in mind that it is way too heavy to haul backpacking.
There's a lot to like about this, but usage scenarios are heavily going to influence your satisfaction with the overall product experience. I like the lightweight design, heavy duty materials, clever easy setup and overall design. The old military style cots were a bear to try to get the cross pieces in between your laterals and this cot solves that with a clever cam action lock that makes it a breeze. Comfort though depends on usage scenario. I got the full size or double version which for a single person 180lbs and up or 2 really light people or kids is very comfortable, even without using the slide in air mattress. You put 2 adults over 160 lbs each on it though and it sags in the middle as there's no cross support other than the tension of the air mattress and fabric. Your both going to meet in the 'v' in the middle. The single versions I'm sure work perfect as there's only going to be a single person on it but I'd opt out of the full if your planning on 2 grown adults sleeping on it. I think the design was centered around the single version and the full was an after thought that needs further cross support. Side from that though, fantastic design.
This car is really comfortable. I've had mattresses from the same company and been impressed with them. The quality is pretty decent. You do have get a good value for your money with this cot. As far as cots it is lightweight to move around and is pretty portable. Ease of use gets easier as you set it up more. The first time does take some time to figure out everything. A deducted one starred due to the size of pump that's included it takes quite a while to pump up the mattress with the small pump. Often I use my paddle board pump to inflate the pad.
Not exactly the most compact solution, you're not going to be packing this very far on your back. But great for camping out of the back of your car.
The setup is about as good as you can expect using a cheap hand pump. There is a trick to the valve not explained well in the really short instructions. You click it once to open the valve, click it again to close it. Make sure you clicked it closed before trying to inflate it.
The only part that doesn't feel super sturdy is the hinged part on the legs that clicks into place tensioning the rails running through the bottom side of the cover.
It does have a fairly universal pump connection, if you have an electric pump for inflating an air mattress, it'll probably work on this. The kind with the twist lock.
The canvas mateess cover feels pretty durable, it would do a good job protecting the air mattress from most harm. It comes with a tiny little pillow that Velcros into place.
You can leave the frame behind and be left with a much smaller, lighter package to carry if you are wanting to pack this a ways.
The documentation was very limited, and it took several attempts to figure out the correct orientation of all the parts.
After getting the cot assembled properly it does provide for a mostly firm bed, however it still has some sag to it. The air mattress seems to be pretty thick sheets of vinyl patched together on the sides to make the mattress, and has a strange valve for inflating. It comes with a manual pump which takes a few minutes to inflate. There were alot of parts to this cot with most of then being individual legs, but the cross bars are corded together like tent poles, but the orientation matters to have the cot properly stretched out, they have one side that pivots and latches to get the mattress tensioned right ao that it is firm and supports weight. The double size cot works ok but has some sag on the edges and center. Im not so much concerned about the durability of this cot, it looks fairly well constructed, as I am with not losing any of the parts as they are all required for a working cot.
If you love camping but hate waking up freezing from the cold ground, this cot and mattress combo is a fantastic solution. Being elevated makes a massive difference in keeping the cold away, and it provides plenty of space for a couple to sleep comfortably without feeling cramped. Another huge benefit of the raised height is how much easier it is to get in and out of bed, which is a lifesaver for anyone with problematic knees.
The frame feels very stable and supportive, though it can be a bit squeaky at times when shifting around during the night. Despite the occasional noise, I am generally very satisfied with the overall quality of sleep it provides. Keep in mind that this system is quite bulky, even when completely collapsed and packed away. It will take up a fair amount of trunk space, but for a true all-in-one sleep solution that brings real comfort to a tent, it is absolutely worth the trade-off.
